Last week, I went to this magazine stall I usually go to now and then, that sell back issues of magazines. I first saw the Natalia Vodianova cover. I had seen this issue in the shops when it was on sale in August, but I never brought it. Then I saw the Lily Cole cover, and I decided to buy them both. Later that day, I was reading them and now I want to buy Harper's Bazaar as one of the regular magazines I always buy, such as Vogue and Elle. The content of Harper's Bazaar is amazing. There are so many articles and everyone of them intrigues me. For example, in the Cindy Crawford issue, the current one out now (which I brought the next day), there's a feature on the what three different working woman are interested in about the new season clothes, about how this season there are ''clothes' on the catwalk, not 'creations'. It shows how at Chloe, Stella McCartney and Celine, that the clothes are 'deliciously laid-back, luxe clothes, the type they could actually wear'. There's a feature on the new height of heels being so low. 'A life in Style', focuses on Donna Karan, there's the Cindy Crawford editorial. There's a feature on the photography of Deborah Turbeville, an article about Heathfield girls Boarding school, which has an alumnae of Savannah Miller, Sienna Miller, Isabella Blow and Tamara Mellon. The images within this magazine are incredible, and I cannot believe that I haven't read Harper's Bazaar until now. Every word is just so interesting and it is everything I want to read within a magazine. I really want to subscribe, but my Mum says I already collect to many...
The Lily Cole and Natalia Vodianova covers I brought...My favourite 3 magazines now goes in this order; 1. Elle, 2.Harper's Bazaar, 3. Vogue. I know that Vogue is amazing too, and I still love Vogue, but sometimes their writing, although I understand it, is just so complex, whereas Harper's Bazaar is more interesting to read. I admire all 3 magazines equally. The people that put these magazines together and just so talented, and I aspire to one day work alongside them. To work at Vogue, or Elle, Harper's Bazaar, would be like a dream! For my work experience in November, I worked at Sugar Magazine for a week. It was one of the best weeks ever, and I loved working there so much! But one of the things that excited me most about working there was the knowing the Elle magazine was going on just a few floors up, and that when I travelled on the train everyday, and walked up North Row, that one day if I can achieve my ambition of being a journalist for Elle, that that is where I would walk to everyday!
So I know that the February 2010 issue of Vogue with Natalia Vodianova has been out for weeks. And I know that the new issue should be out within the next few days. However, I wanted to post about it, because this cover is one of my favourite of Vogues ever! This issue has been sitting on my bed side table ever since I got it through the post at the beginning of January as opposed to being put in the draw with my other magazines! I think this cover really defines the prettiness of the SS10 shows. It combines some of my favourite trends from them such as the femininity, the prettiness of spring, and the use of pastels. I love how when this dress was on the Fendi catwalk, that it was this beautiful dress in a pale lilac colour made of delicate materials, yet it had been put with these bold black wedges. The wedges were able to take away some of the innocence that this look conveyed and without those shoes, I don't think would have been the same... I loved the hair at Fendi too! This is the behind-the-scenes video from the making of the February 2010 Vogue Natalia shoot...
Lately, its been snowing a lot here!! Yesterday I went over to Jess' house. Its always so fun there, we also walk to Tesco to get some lunch lol. In the summer we always got pasta pots and melon, but now its got colder we've bought short breads yesterday and the last time :) Jess brought Vogue, but I already have it so I brought Glamour. We walked back and Jess made some hot chocolate, I made some tea and we sat and talked for ages :) Her cat Isla kept trying to jump on the cage of one of the pigeons that had been brought inside lol. After we got all dressed in so many layers-I had my coat, over a jersey blazer, over a cardigan, over a playsuit with tights (probably a bad choice for the snow!), and my biker boots on, along with a massive scarf and black gloves. Jess had her new Worker Boots on!! They are so nice :) So over we went to the Park, and I wish we had sledges! I thought about using a piece of cardboard but quickly decided against it. We walked to the top of the hill, and sat on the bench there. The snow was blowing directly into us, and the wind was so cold, so we ran all the way down the hill again. Suddenly deciding all the snow would be good for photos, we got Jess' camera, and headed back to the Hill... We then took loads of photos, jumping around in the snow, it was so fun! After a while, our hands felt frozen, and we didn't want to risk catching hypothermia or frost bite (I know it wasn't that cold but it honestly did feel like it!), so we went back into the house. We went on Twitter (follow me-http://twitter.com/lucytaylor0) after uploading all the photos. Played sing star for a bit and then I got picked up and went off home!

Has anyone got Twitter? What have you been up to in the snow this year?
Me and my best friend-Jess, exchanged Christmas presents the other day! I got her a necklace from Urban Outfitters, a Nails Inc nail varnish in 'Piccadilly Circus', and made her a DVD of all our best memories from this year :) And for me, she got me a box set of all of Audrey Hepburns best movies, including Breakfast at Tiffany's, Sabrina, Roman Holiday, Paris when it Sizzles, My Fair Lady and Funny Face! Also, she even got me a vintage copy of Vogue-an issue from October 1989 with Claudia Schiffer on the cover! Its so funny looking through it and seeing how much has changed from then until now. I loved both of my presents, and I could tell she loved hers too :) Watching the DVD I made makes me realise how lucky I am to have a friend like Jess, and its so nice to watch it and remember everything that's happened this year, it really has been so good! Together we've been to a Coldplay concert, to Berlin, Elle's London Fashion Weekend! Even just the smaller things we do like sleepovers or going to Costa Coffee have been great :) I hope next years just as good! Christmas is such a good time to reflect over the year, and to be thankful for all the people you have in your life.... my family and all my friends, Jess, Beth, Rachel, Vix's being some of them :)
I can't stop watching this trailer! Its so captivating to just see the rush of energy held in a two minute long trailer. I mean, there is just so much going on, and its so amazing to see all these different clips of behind the scenes at Vogue. I love Vogue magazine, I've been collecting it for ages, and one day I would love to work in the journalism industry-Anna Wintour has like my dream job lol!
When the Devil Wears Prada came out, I sat watching in the cinema, in awe of how fabulous that whole industry seemed, and practically ever since then Ive had a major obsession with magazines and almost everything fashion related. But at the same time, I knew that that film was also rather fictionalized. Yet now, I will finally get to see what really goes into making of a magazine!! OMG :D
I love magazines. I have continuously collected Elle, Vogue, Glamour and Teen Vogue every single month since May of last year. Time and time again my mum tells me to throw some out because were running out of space :S
